Break Through the Holiday Clutter With PR

It is that time of year when everyone is getting bombarded with advertisements across TV, mail, radio and online. For many small business owners they believe that this is the wrong time to advertise for their business- their message will just get lost in the clutter. Well, we tend to agree with you on that one. Consumers are being hit very hard from advertisers right now and a lot of good marketing messages will go unnoticed.

However, have you thought about doing something else for your business this time of year? What about doing some PR instead? Due to the high volume of advertising this time of year you would assume that it would be hard to get your story heard. Actually, if you can believe it, there is a large lull in the news world when the holidays kick into gear and it can potentially be easier to get some press for your company.

Our recommendation is to think about some angles that you could use to pitch your company’s story that would be appropriate around the holiday season. Think of something that makes your company or business unique. What was special about this year and how are you rounding out 2012?
