Community Surprises Mother/Daughter Duo in Need with Goodwill and Meaningful Donations

When Focus Marketing + PR added Pinnacle Charter School to our client roster, we could have never imaged the heart-warming satisfaction our team would draw from our work and dedication to effective marketing and public relations campaigns. 

The realization came last month, when Pinnacle Charter Middle School’s Principal, Dr. Kimberly Stalcup, helped to make a student’s holiday wishes come true. Upon learning the student and her mother were experiencing homelessness, Stalcup reached out to her community for donations of clothing and dog food. In return, she garnered more than the duo could have ever imaged. 

Executing a local public relations campaign to share of the community’s goodwill, Focus obtained media coverage from three news outlets covering the Denver Metro Area and beyond. These outlets, Fox 31, CBS 4 and Denver 7, facilitated donations from the community in the form of money, financial planning services, job offers, car repairs, clothing and footwear, dog food, and dental and medical services. Beyond items and services, more than $12,000 was collected via a GoFundMe account set-up for the student and her mother. Sadly, there are many more Pinnacle families in need.
